Saturday

I had to take my nephew Brandon to soccer, and my favorite neice Emily had to come also. Brandon plays in the 9 and under team. The game started and Emily somehow convinced me to go and get hot chips. By the time we came back Brandon had kicked the first goal, and we saw a second goal go in. Within 5 min Brandon had kicked the third goal and setup a nice pass which resulted in the fourth goal. At this time his coach took him off the field and jokingly said his game was over. He got back on the field but was put in defence and was told to not go past the first quarter. At half time they were winning still so the coach gave them a interesting talk. "You have to remember, it's not just about kicking goals. We have to let the other side have some fun also." Brandon was given the goalie jumper and had to stay in goals all of second half. He saw very little action and had to just stand and watch. They still won. 8 - 0.

Emily and I just took pictures of each other such was our vanity. Emily ate most of the large chips herself.

I took them both to the Woodies rollerblade place after lunch. Sally was told to stay in the car. Emily found the benches for putting your rollerblades on. She saw it as a catwalk and did some moves.

Isn't it nice to have the luxury of telling your striker not to kick goals...

Hey mate, new post WITH PICS!!! I still haven't worked out how to use the pics properly. Oh well, at least they're there.

You look fine. And no, you don't look fat in that.

Gee you're harsh. At least you didn't put "desperate"! See, at least Mike was (trying to be) subtle...

Primary school soccer can be rather imbalanced at times. I remember my friends winning 16-0.
